Description
We start our adventure from the scenic coast of Ambon towards the Spice Islands, renowned for their remarkable colonial history. As the place of origin of nutmeg – a spice that was worth more than gold in terms of weight – the Spice Islands were the holy grail for famous old world explorers including Christopher Columbus and Ferdinand Magellan. Explore the remnants of Fort Amsterdam in Hila and Fort Belgica on Banda Neira, and explore some of the world’s best sites for muck diving.

Best of Raja Ampat & the Spice Islands
Description
We start our adventure along the scenic coast of Mioskon Island, exploring the surreal landscapes of Raja Ampat. Enjoy kayaking down the same narrow passage between Waigeo and Gam Island that Alfred Russell Wallace traveled through in 1860. Along the way, we might even catch sight of saltwater crocodiles.

Over the next few days, we continue to explore the region’s limestone karst island clusters. Known to harbor one of the richest coral reef ecosystems and incredibly biodiverse waters, Raja Ampat has commonly been dubbed the “Amazon of the seas”. While we’re here, choose your own adventures, whether it’s snorkeling, swimming, diving, or kayaking at the finest reefs on the planet. Revel in the presence of majestic rays at the Manta Cleaning Station and encounter black tip reef sharks in these pristine waters.
